Stellplatz an der Marina → … → Garys Stellplatz

We had planned not to travel for Sunday, but to spend the day in one place. After all, it was a holiday, a weekend, and of course Sebb's birthday. Nearby, Ines had discovered a treetop walkway and even better, an open-air museum. In the Slavic and Viking village, they had reconstructed the buildings of a village that had been found nearby during excavations.
When we left the parking spot by the marina on foot around noon, a local car tuning meet was just starting with music, loud, fast, and chrome-plated cars.
First, we headed to the treetop walkway, and as the morning had already hinted, it was drizzling lightly and steadily. Fortunately, the wooden tower was constructed in such a way that one could stay somewhat protected from the rain by simply avoiding the top platform.
As we continued on our way, the rain had stopped, and we walked towards the open-air museum. Now we could have taken the long way along the road, but that would have been long and - boring, so we looked for the footpath through the towering reeds.
The beaten path was quite easy to find but completely soaked from the rain. After a few steps and our shoes becoming quite damp, Ines decided that it would be easiest to go the rest of the way barefoot. Well, what else could Sebb do but take his shoes in hand and wade barefoot through the centimeter-deep mud.
In the Viking and Slavic village, there was indeed quite a lot to see; they hadn't skimped on their efforts but had truly reconstructed many buildings in varying architectural styles, gathered historical tools, household items, and all sorts of exhibits.
To our delight, there were some enthusiasts spending their Sunday bringing some life to the village. Whittling, wood sculpting, and gastronomy were present. When the drizzle started again, we sat down in the open longhouse, ordered kvass, sausage, and herb bread, and replenished our strength, as we still had a return trip to make.
We returned first through the village and then along the coast to Gary's parking spot. When we arrived, the tuning meet had just ended, and the polished and lowered luxury vehicles were leaving the parking spot.

Peace returned to the marina for dinner.
