Loan day’s journey from Argyle hotel in Nairobi to Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

It felt nice to leave Nairobi and head towards the traffic rush in the city. It took just over six hours to reach this lovely lodge built around natural springs. A truly fantastic location by the river. You can't believe that the lodge is over 30 years old.

After a nice lunch, we went on a little safari in Buffalo Springs, a park near the lodge. An incredibly wonderful experience to see its animals in large herds. You really feel alive. It lasted almost three hours. Just before we headed back to the lodge, we encountered our first giraffe.

After dinner, I fell asleep quite quickly.
