Von Wildsteig nach Bad Tölz
Let's start with the weather again today. It has actually followed the forecast. The rain that was predicted for the morning was supposed to be over by 9:30 am - and it was....

The day today was divided into two parts. This was once again due to the weather. For days, there has been a high risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Unfortunately, it was accurate. But let's start with the beautiful part of the day. Considering the forecast, we set off early under a blue and white sky (as is customary in Bavaria) and bright sunshine. There was also a constant up and down today, and several times we had to continue on foot. With a 16% gradient on gravel, even pushing the bikes makes you work up a good sweat. By noon, we had passed Lake Tegernsee and halfway around Lake Schliersee. As announced, the afternoon quickly became cloudy. Just in time before it started pouring, we were able to find shelter in a half-open shed, where we waited for the main phase of the thunderstorm with two other cyclists who were on the same route as us, surrounded by farming machinery, hay bales, and various tools. However, according to the rain radar, it was clear that we couldn't wait until the rain stopped completely. So, after an hour, we put on our complete rain gear and set off. We then rode the last 25 km in pouring rain, supported by a long descent of over 200 meters in altitude (which would have been a pleasure in good weather!) and a strong tailwind. Now, the goal is to get everything dry again by tomorrow.
