First Day in Las Vegas

We had planned to go to a pool party on Thursday but then realized that it was supposed to happen today. When we looked at the weather (it was cloudy, raining on and off, and a maximum of 26°C), we quickly decided against it. Honestly, we were quite relieved because the crowd here in Las Vegas on Labor Day weekend was quite intense... Not exactly a refined crowd, in our opinion completely inappropriate clothing, and everyone was quite drunk.

So, plan change: during the day, we explored the MGM Casino and had our first laundry day in our apartment high-rise. In between, we had a burrito and a taco salad... Both were really authentically Mexican and not smothered in thick cheese like usually found in America. It was surprisingly delicious.

In the evening, we set off again towards the New York, New York Casino. Upon entering, we discovered the roller coaster on the roof of the building and thought 'Be spontaneous, join in' and got in line. It looked pretty harmless from below... But we were proven wrong. It was already dark, and we were incredibly high above the Strip when it started. The ride was short but really intense. We were shaken up quite a bit... but we had a blast.

Since we were still a bit hungry, we went to a typical diner. As you can see in the photo, it wasn't exactly crowded... But still, we had to wait 10 minutes at the counter before being assigned a table. We still puzzle over the reason but can't come up with one. But no matter: the food was delicious, and our waiter David was almost too attentive.
