For Monday, we had already bought tickets for the ARTE Museum in Las Vegas in advance. It was quite a long walk to get there, but it was definitely worth it. There were several rooms with various immersive effects and themes. Unfortunately, it was still quite crowded that day, but we were still able to enjoy it.
Since it was quite hot today as well, we walked back to our apartment over the Strip and then relaxed by the pool. You do have to keep moving to stay in the shade, but it's quite manageable.
As we were also a bit groggy in the evening, we made ourselves cozy in our apartment.
On Tuesday morning, we got up quite early and actually went down to the gym and earned our breakfast. Today it was 40°C and we spent the day by the pool. Since we were in the mood for a nice little restaurant again, we reserved a table for dinner in Downtown Las Vegas. The restaurant is apparently very popular among the locals. And lo and behold: the recommendation was spot on. A really interesting menu that offered a bit of variety compared to the usual things you get on the Strip. We had delicious octopus and very good fish.
After the last taxi driver recommended visiting the old Strip, we went there after dinner... It wasn't really far from the restaurant.
When we arrived at the old Strip, our hats almost blew away. The entire street is closed to cars and covered with a huge LED sky. There were also speakers blaring really loud music, a total of three stages for live music, and some very interesting characters hanging around. Of course, we made a stop at the Golden Nugget (one of the oldest casinos in Vegas), but we didn't gamble there... just watching was enough for today.
To wrap up, we listened to some songs from one of the live bands and then took a taxi back to our place.
