I have to say, today was really one of the most relaxing days of my cycling trip. Although by the end I had clocked over 90 kilometers, it was just so relaxed. I can't quite put my finger on why that was.
Yesterday my legs felt a bit heavy, but today that was definitely not the case. The weather, of course, was also just perfect – you couldn't wish for better. The route along the coast was perfectly chosen.
The only thing I really can't explain are those concrete high-rises along the coast. Ostend was one of the less attractive examples for me. I find it hard to believe that anyone feels truly comfortable there on vacation. But luckily, it was just a short section, and the rest of the route led through beautiful polder landscapes and dunes.
Of course, the concrete monuments from World War II in Dunkirk were impressive as well. Unfortunately, I arrived a bit too late to visit the museum there, but I will definitely catch up on that.
And now, as always, watch a little football, enjoy a beer in the BnB, and wind down the evening in a cozy manner.
