NL-FR-BE 2026 - Day 07 Tournai-Charleroi

On the penultimate day, I was guided by the route along canals to Charleroi. The ride was mostly relaxed, aside from three roadblocks and disastrous detour signs. Nevertheless, I reached my destination on time and everything went well. 😌

The journey was diverse, leading from nature reserves through industrial areas to parts of Charleroi that remain untouched by structural changes. 😉😉

Impressive is the boat lift of Strepy-Thieu. I had heard of it before, but the size still surprised me.

The weather cooperated perfectly, and if tomorrow's forecast holds true, I carried the rain gear for nothing. Aside from five drops just before Bruges, it stayed completely dry. After trying a few more Belgian beers, I am now lying in my BnB on the big bed, looking forward to the last leg tomorrow to Liège.
