Day 384 - Swimming with Manatees

Hello everyone!
This morning, we first went to the reception to check in.
The lady was very friendly and helped us book our manatee adventure for today.
There were different options to observe the animals: by boat, by kayak, or while swimming.
Even though we would have preferred one of the dry options, we knew that swimming would allow us to see the most.
Perfect, the tour was booked, and it would start at 2:15 PM.
We spent the remaining time in the RV, excited for the adventure ahead.
After a 10-minute drive, we arrived at the operator. They kindly explained where we could park our RV, and off we went: into the wetsuits, watched the instruction video, and headed to the boat.
Along with five other guests, we set off slowly and received a few last pieces of information during the ride. After another 15 minutes, the boat stopped and we reached our destination.
We got into the water and slowly filled our wetsuits. It took a moment to acclimate to the cold, but as the first manatee swam beneath us, the temperature was soon forgotten.
The manatees were much larger than we had imagined (about 2-3 meters) and came surprisingly close to us humans. Touching the animals is strictly forbidden here—perhaps that's why they are so trusting?
After about an hour, we started to feel cold and left the water. A few followed us shortly after, and the last ones returned about 15 minutes later.
Once everyone was back on the boat, we headed back to the harbor and the provider's shop. Our guide presented the photos from today's excursion, but we had our own camera ☺️
I needed a few stickers for the photo album, and then we left the shop satisfied.
Since we were already in the village, we settled into a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner (burger 😁).
Later, we drove back to the campsite and relaxed for the evening.
