Lovely Friday started with a nice walk on the beach. You meet most of the parents in the area during the walk, and today it was a bit cloudy, making for a really pleasant outing.
I stopped by a Thai massage place on my way home to get ready for the weekend.
On the way home from school, we saw a snake, unfortunately hit by a car. According to Wikipedia, it was Thailand's 4th most poisonous snake, but fortunately not aggressive and above all, dead.
Lawa finishes school by noon on Fridays, and then it's time for a nice lunch, which today took place at Black Coral. Schnitzel for my husband, fried shrimp for Lawa, and I had smoked duck with orange sauce.
At school, the children had collected tadpoles, and during the day, some of them developed legs so they built a ladder for them. They utilize everything around them for schoolwork, which I like.
The sea has calmed down significantly, so we spent the afternoon swimming and 'surfing'. Fantastic and relaxing, but not very refreshing in the sea.
On Saturday, there is a party for a classmate, and we were looking for a gift for that. The girl loves cats, and we found a bag with cats at the market, so we took a tuk-tuk there. All the shops were open except the one we wanted to shop in. What a bummer.
We didn't want to wait, so we went to Lanta Lilly for taco night and hanging out with classmates. We also stopped by the big pharmacy on long beach and managed to find electrolyte solution with strawberry flavor.
We also made a stop at Cozy for a drink. Now we are starting to piece everything together and recognize things, even though incredibly much has changed. The road has been rebuilt with a median strip, and of course, both shops and restaurants come and go. The pandemic had a significant impact as much of the tourism disappeared.
Tonight, all the girls were up and enjoying the troubadour while they swam. The girls were sitting and eating by themselves when suddenly a shriek from the girls pierced everyone's ears. A gecko fell from the roof straight into one of the girl's plates. Things that can happen in the tropics 😀
