New Year's Eve in Thailand! Lawa's second, but she slept through the last one 😀

We took a relaxed morning with a morning swim at the beach. I then went for a massage while Lawa and Mulle played in the shared pool.

We aimed for a late breakfast at Sisters to last until the New Year's dinner.

The afternoon was spent swimming in the pool while Lawa prepared the bar and wrote drink lists. When the first guests arrived around 3 PM, she was the perfect hostess, showing everyone around and asking what they wanted to drink.

It turned out to be a really laid-back New Year's evening with more swimming in the pool and take-away from an amazing restaurant.

At eleven, we headed towards Indianen to meet the rest of Koh Lanta and to see a huge fireworks display. Lawa immediately ran into her friends, so she took off with the instructions not to go down to the beach where fireworks were being shot off in all directions.

It was amazing to stand on the beach and see fireworks from all the hotels. We also saw a few rice lanterns, but they have been banned for a few years due to their harm to nature and wildlife.

As mentioned, Indianen shot off a whole bunch of fireworks and we toasted to 2026, hoping for an even better year than 2025.

Lawa got tired so we went home, encountering quite a few ambulances, so it was actually nice to head home on time. There are so many injuries and deaths in traffic here on Lanta during the high season, the traffic is absolutely crazy.
