Crossing to Robinson Crusoe Island - Sea Day

Today we are heading to the Chilean Juan Fernández Islands. The main settlement is San Juan Bautista, located in the center of the northeast coast of Robinson Crusoe Island. Selkirk Island, about 100 km to the west, is also part of the Juan Fernández Islands. Selkirk was a Scottish sailor and adventurer in the 17th century. He is considered the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's character Robinson Crusoe, as he was stranded on these islands and survived alone for several years until he was rescued by a ship.

Today we primarily received information about the trip, instructions for kayaking, zodiac, and submarine use. We also explored the ship a bit more. It has, among other things, a room with the same view as the bridge and the same screens. However, one can also go onto the bridge at any time, as long as they are not very busy. It's a tightly scheduled program. The sea is somewhat choppy, but the captain has decided to go a bit faster, which apparently enhances the effect of the stabilizers. This is noticeable, and as a result, we will arrive not tomorrow, but rather this evening. However, the customs will not clear us today, but only as planned tomorrow. This means we will anchor today, but can only go ashore tomorrow.
