Today it finally began. For once, we had to go to Zurich Airport first. As always, it was very important that we arrived very early. We succeeded once again. We were already there a quarter of an hour before the check-in counter opened. But at least we could pass the time in the lounge. It even had a terrace overlooking the runway.
The first leg of the journey to Hong Kong went smoothly. During the flight over the Alps, we were able to enjoy beautiful views. Besides the Glarus major thrust, we could see many other beautiful mountain formations. The flight route deviated surprisingly little from the optimal flight path. Instead of flying over Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc., we went over Romania, Turkey, Iraq, etc. Since the recent fighting in Iran, the detour is likely to be larger starting today.
