I had no idea! My expectations for the evening were more like: film clips accompanied by Hans Zimmer's music, performed by a live orchestra. That would have been great too.

But 'Hans Zimmer Live – The Next Level 2025' is so much more – and truly an experience on a completely new level.

The master himself was present, playing the piano and guitar, surrounded by a fantastic orchestra. At the first glance at the stage, it was clear how many amazing women (!) – musicians – were part of the ensemble: two female drummers in the center, flanked by additional percussionists with large drums and percussion instruments.

Particularly in focus was the electric cello of the virtuoso Tina Guo, whose energetic performance continually created special moments. Equally impressive: the extraordinary guitarist Guthrie Govan, whom Hans Zimmer humorously introduced as a 'literature professor', even though Govan dropped out of his literature studies at Oxford to become one of the best guitarists in the world.

The singers were also exceptional, led by Lebo M, who created the iconic soundtrack for 'The Lion King' alongside Hans Zimmer. His daughter even shares the stage now. But instead of just presenting a 'The Lion King' special, Zimmer arranged an entire Africa segment with authentic rhythms and African singers.

Many of his musicians have been accompanying him on tour for years, and you can clearly feel the bond among them. Time and again, Hans Zimmer introduced his collaborators with warm, friendly words, showing genuine appreciation and humor.

Dune, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Inception, The Dark Knight, and many other film moments were part of the program. All pieces were presented in completely new arrangements, specifically arranged for this tour. Thus, a musical journey was created that went far beyond known soundtracks.

Additionally, there was a breathtaking light show that perfectly showcased every instrument, every musical twist, and every emotion. And when aerial acrobat Nina Treiber floated down from the ceiling in a sparkling full-body suit, it elevated the experience even further.

The audience in the sold-out Uber Arena was excited from the very beginning, with numerous shout-outs, cheers, and applause that lasted for minutes. By the end, the entire hall rose up for several standing ovations.

All in all, it was a perfectly staged experience, a concert that resembled a multimedia total artwork. The high ticket price? Worth every cent.

Conclusion:

Hans Zimmer has once again managed to transform film music into a monumental live experience. 'The Next Level 2025' is not just a concert tour, but an emotional, visual, and musical masterpiece, one that surely no one will forget anytime soon.
