2026 - August - Montenvers and Mer de Glace
The ride on the Montenvers cogwheel train and the subsequent glacier visit are certainly an experience, but also quite frightening. Hardly a moment...

When was the last time you sat on the street on your bottom? I did yesterday. It's not really comfortable on the hard pavement. But the view upwards is perfect.
Up towards the Strasbourg Cathedral, or in French, Cathédrale Notre-Dame.
Every evening, since July 3, 2026, and until August 30, 2026, a light show transforms the gigantic 142-meter high facade into a canvas.
The show starts at 10:30 PM initially, but in August, it begins at 10:00 PM. The unique sound and light show lasts for 10 minutes.
Tip: The first round is always very crowded. Just wait for the next or the one after that, and it will be less crowded. A new round always starts after a 5-minute break.
Shortly before midnight, it's over. Speaking of the end: The show runs until the end of August. Admission is, by the way, free.
And for those who missed it this year: Next year, the spectacle is planned again, this time with a completely new theme.
