Bolzano and Oberbozen
Another wonderful day in South Tyrol! It rained overnight, but the rain didn't bother us at all. In the morning, fog settled in the valley, creating a fascinating light...

Hard to believe it's already Friday again - where does the time go?
We took advantage of the mixed weather day to go on an outing to Vinschgau. There’s a typewriter museum there, which Michael had read about, and it turned out to be a great alternative for questionable weather. The weather ended up being not too bad at all and significantly warmer than expected, so I sweated quite a bit in my jeans.
The museum is relatively new and nicely done. It’s named after Peter Mitterhofer, who is from the area and developed a typewriter that never went into production. The museum displays about 400 machines, from the very first models from the 1860s to the IBM Selectric typewriter that we had at home as well. There was even a model that Michael remembered from home (it was actually called Gabriele!) on display. The visit was worth it, and as a souvenir, I brought back two annoying mosquito bites.
Since it was much nicer than expected, we decided to drive to the Algunder Waalweg. The parking lot was very full, but we weren't deterred and bravely walked along the waal. It's really beautiful and quite comfortable! The last time we were there was about 22 years ago, with Daniel in a stroller and later in a backpack; we even chained the stroller to a bench at some point. Rudi and Elsa were with us then, and I can still remember the outing well. That says something! 😁
We had just received a tip from Birgit that there’s a very good ice cream shop in Naturns. Since we were nearby, we went straight there, and I must agree with her: the ice cream was delicious! Unfortunately, there was no coffee, and Michael really wanted an espresso, which he got at a café around the corner. They refused to give him one to take away, so he enjoyed it peacefully at the bar while I stood outside with my ice cream cone. 😂
Afterward, we set off for home, and it actually rained a little, which was wonderful for a relaxing afternoon at home. In the evening, we had spinach noodles and salad, and for dessert, a delicious strawberry roll from Peter Paul, and then we took a little stroll through the village.
Starting tomorrow, the sun is supposed to shine again and it will be warm. What more could we want? 😍
