Evening at the Beach

Today, I continued working with the CRM software, and at 3 PM I finally had free time. There are about 30 of us here, and nine of us went to the beach together.

The journey there was amazing—riding in the back of a pickup truck, with music and a beer in hand, through rivers and up steep paths. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos/videos because I was fully enjoying the moment.

As soon as we arrived, we lit a campfire, drank a few beers, and ate typical snacks. It was particularly funny that they had a type of salsa made from tomatoes, onions, vinegar, and other ingredients, and they just filled it in a small chip bag to eat it that way. Moments like these are what I love. Different cultures always mean different foods.

As soon as the fire was lit, it started pouring— and it didn’t lessen at all. In no time, every inch of clothing was completely soaked. But the great thing was, because it was still so warm, it didn’t bother anyone. On the contrary, it made the moment even better!

Everything was just incredibly funny.

Of course, almost only Spanish was spoken! But for the first time, I understood significantly more. The context and sign language really helped me a lot.

And one thing is simply universal everywhere in the world: Laughter connects. And you can definitely share that with the people here more than well.

The fact is: I feel more than welcome here. The people are just amazing. This is Costa Rica. Pura Vida, my friends.
