Today we feel more like ourselves again. Still, we want to take it easy, so we head to the beach. Bondi Beach, probably the most famous beach in the Southern Hemisphere. On this occasion, the doll receives her first pre-birthday gifts. First a cap – in modern terms, a baseball cap – and then a 'surfer poncho' at the beach, which we immediately try on. It’s Sunday, it’s vacation time, the beach is crowded... but we still find a nice spot and make ourselves comfortable. We quickly feel drawn to the water. It’s quite fresh!! The waves are so great that I’m still pulled in. The doll watches over me. Not just the doll, but also one of the famous Bondi Beach lifeguards. The current is quite notorious here. We enjoy the weather, but clouds are indeed starting to gather and the wind is picking up. Since our craving for sand is quickly satisfied, we move to a nearby local spot with a nice view and have a little snack.
We kick off the evening program with dinner and drinks at the Oxford Hotel, and afterwards, we head to the Stonewall Hotel. There’s also a drag show on Sunday night, but it features an open stage, so there are amateur participants. The doll’s spontaneous judgment: 'looks like a men’s ballet in Forchheim.' There’s some truth to that… the evening is enjoyable nonetheless, even though the jet lag is already creeping in on us...
