I started very early again. I was on the bike shortly after 6 o'clock. At 18 degrees, I was a bit cold, especially since I had swapped my motorcycle pants for my motorcycle jeans. But these "fresh" temperatures were not going to last long, although the temperature rise was not as fast as yesterday, probably because of the altitude I had reached by now.
The ride was very varied, first on beautiful mountain roads over the Carpathian Mountains, then longer stretches straight ahead before entering the mountains again. Many nicely decorated villages along the roadside. One of them must be very child-friendly, as I counted a total of 15 occupied stork nests.
You can clearly see from the infrastructure and the condition of the villages that this is a very touristy area.
An accidental destination was Bran Castle. The official residence of Count Dracula. 🦇 However, he was not there and I didn't want to wait until nightfall.
Of course, there was also a lot of tourism here and long queues in front of sights. Not my thing, so I continued.
I actually wanted to drive the Transfagarasan today, a beautiful mountain pass road over the Carpathians. However, since the temperatures were already quite high again, it was already 2:00 pm, and there was a nice guesthouse by the roadside, I decided to conquer the pass in the cool of the morning. Let's see if the bear 🐻 is there again.
