Today we headed out to the countryside to Royal Lavender Farm in Florești. In diverse teams, we tackled a total of six different activities and spent an unforgettable day together.
Observing Animals and Learning Languages
Our adventure began right on the farm. While exploring the grounds, we got to closely observe and meet all the animals. The special part was that we compared the names of the animals in three different languages - Romanian, German, and English!
Picking Up Trash and Land Art in the Forest
After the farm tour, we walked a few hundred meters into a nearby small forest. Usually, a small river flows there, but due to the ongoing drought, there was only a little water visible - a striking moment that brought us closer to nature. We utilized the time wisely:
• Art from Nature: Each group created beautiful pictures from
• natural materials directly on the forest floor (land art).
• Commitment to the Environment: In addition, we cleaned up the forest and proudly collected a total of eight bags of trash.
A Regional Picnic for Refreshment
Back at the farm, a true highlight awaited us: a joint picnic with fresh ingredients straight from the farm and our own garden. We had schnitzel, fresh vegetables, and a real specialty - omelet made from ostrich eggs!
Creative Afternoon Stations
Well-nourished, we continued the afternoon with various activity stations:
• Lavender Harvest: Some groups picked fragrant lavender, sifted the flowers, and filled them into small scent bags.
• Gardening: Other teams actively helped and planted fresh lavender.
• Orchard & Bird Protection: Others explored the fruit trees and built cozy bird nests from natural materials.
• Seed Art: Another group created artistic pictures from various plant seeds.
To conclude, there was delicious cake and plenty of free time to play together, chat, and simply relax. Overall, it was a wonderful day!
