After a nice breakfast, we set off for the next stage in cool but dry temperatures around 6 degrees.
We had dressed warmly just in case. We would find this both useful and unnecessary. More on that later.
We intended to reach our daily goal, the Falgerhof in Völlan, without taking the Brenner motorway. Online, there were already horror stories about the situation. Everything was supposedly closed, and roadblocks forced travelers to use the toll-required Brenner motorway, where there would be endless traffic jams.
It turned out to be completely different. We took the planned route without motorways and toll roads, arriving at our destination without delay. But how?
Magnificent landscapes with snow-dusted mountains, curves, and endless bends. The highlight was the Jauvenpass. There was snow on the ground, and it was uncomfortably cold. Good thing we had dressed a bit warmer.
We descended behind RVs, which made braking necessary. Once we reached the bottom, it was about 10 degrees warmer than in Bavaria/Austria. We had arrived in Italy in a different climate zone.
Palms and cypress trees were growing in the front yards.
We checked into our large apartment at the Residence Falgerhof. Even our motorcycle gear had its own room. What a beautiful apartment! We will stay here for three nights and take another break tomorrow.
For dinner, we will head 20 meters further to eat pizza. When you're in Italy....;-)
