July 21 - Cycling Trip to Cap Corse
Cycling Trip at Cap Corse

Today I'm turning sixty. As Sebastian would say: unbelievable.
Janosch called to congratulate me and asked how it would feel. Not at all, I said. When you think about it, age is neither a feeling nor a state, but rather a label. Ah, you're already sixty, or only thirty, etc.
Regardless, I feel great and that is mainly thanks to the readers of this blog. Thank you very much for that.
The guide told us that there is a desert near Saint-Florent and koomot offered a route through it.
I had to convince Katja a little (20 kilometers of unpaved road scared her), but eventually, we saddle the bikes and set off. The path climbs into the mountains to nearly 300m and then crosses through the desert on a rocky-sandy track which Katja justifiably feared. But we can handle it. At the end, a beautiful beach awaits us, where we don’t swim because there’s no shower to wash off the salt. Therefore, I didn't take any photos either.
We go from the beach to the neighboring campsite café, drink beer and lemonade, and mentally prepare for the return trip. This is easier. A because it has more uphill sections, which I can control better and B because we have gotten used to the terrain. At this point, my thanks to Bosch, Yamaha, Cube, Haibike, Shimano, Schwalbe, and others who make such great bikes possible. The descent down to Saint-Florent is a dream.

I had already looked into where to eat well in Saint-Florent some time ago. I can really only recommend La Gaffe. Of course not cheap, but with things you don’t cook yourself.
Since we prefer to enjoy the food rather than photograph it, the photos are neither good nor complete. Missing are:
- Amuse Bouche: Flamed trout with eggplant cream, with onion confit trout caviar
- Dessert: Mojito ice, pineapple-passion fruit salsa, lemony cream, etc.
