Angkor Wat Photo Shoot

We have arrived in Siem Reap. I notice that changes are becoming harder for me. It's a strange feeling; in Phnom Penh, it was clear: here we are 'done', time to move on. The suitcase is difficult to pack properly, it's much heavier, my mood is more sensitive, and I just want to go home :-/.

Evening in Siem Reap: there is a 'Pub Street', one large bar after another, flashing neon signs, big screens, loud music, all sorts of offers, lonely, large white men, beer in abundance, massage offers. It reminds us of Saigon, how it might have been 10 years ago - we would like to say: don't do it this way, it ends bright, loud, shrill, dirty. We are two out of many, it's more anonymous, answers to questions are no longer awaited. Despite all this: polite restraint, everything is still small and manageable. First impulse: we won't stay longer....

Today, well-rested :-), rented a moped, the first visit to the Angkor Wat temple. Just going through... bought a 7-day ticket, the temple complex is huge ..., 4 hours flew by like nothing. Incredible and impressive.

For me, the most exciting were the people; everyone wanted to take a photo or be photographed, preferably of themselves, their children, families. Extra dressed up, sometimes touched up with makeup. Everyone had to go through, whether tall, short, white, brown, yellow, blue, green,....

I was also moved; I kept the lens pointed as well - therefore, to keep it from becoming too much, here are the shoots. The temple will come in another blog.
