The weather once again brought us rain this morning, and we couldn't book the planned boat trip on Lake Wakatipu because the speedboat wasn't running. As an alternative, we drove along the Glenorchy Queenstown Road by the lake to Glenorchy. It was another beautiful route with stunning nature, but unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal for photography. Glenorchy is a lovely little town at the end of the lake with small cafes and shops.
In the afternoon, we took a ride on the Skyline Gondola to the viewpoint overlooking Queenstown. In the evening, we took a leisurely stroll through Queenstown in nice weather. Sandbags were placed in front of the shops near the shore because the lake is carrying a lot of water and has already flooded some beach areas.
