Departing from Whanganui, not sleeping well, we do not know why... Bought bread at Soor Bros (otherwise, there's only soft bread in New Zealand), took photos of dogs by the house wall and on the road again!
Stopped at the Skyline Walk and off we go for the hike. We start off cheerfully, and then it gets so steep, forbiddingly steep, that we can hardly believe it: when will the Skywalk finally come? We persevere and enjoy fantastic views, and indeed we eventually make it to the top, with steep drops on both sides… Whoa, we are not used to this as Hamburg residents, going down is easier, but it hurts!
Finally, in the late afternoon, we checked into our tiny house, super cute decor and fully immersed in nature, offering a great view with a terrace - we really hit the jackpot, it’s ours for 3 nights!
