From a new home in London to...

... a new home in Europe. At least for the next four months!

Some of you might have heard already. I have taken four months of unpaid leave to have some time for traveling.

Starting in March, I'm going to spend a week traveling through the UK and then over to the European mainland. After that, two months in Southern and Eastern Europe, one month in Germany, all with an Interrail ticket. The last three weeks, I will travel through the UK once again - at least that's the rough plan for now.

But before that, a lot needs to be prepared. Booking the first trains, for example, you need a seat reservation for the Eurostar, a few last purchases, starting to pack early, and carefully considering what to take, what do I really need? Scouring the internet for tips and tricks, and then I also have to move out. Fortunately, my room will be partially subletted and used as storage, so I won't have to continue paying rent for my flatshare room. However, everything has to be cleared out, but I can still come back in July and move back in.

My plan for this blog is to activate it a bit more and report on my travels at more regular intervals.

Recently, I've been asked repeatedly how I feel about everything that's coming up. What should I say, the feelings about the upcoming change are mixed. On one hand, there's stress because there's so much to do, but there's also some fear or maybe more respect, since it's my first time being alone for such a long period, but I’ve also found a small solution to that, getting visitors from some lovely people every now and then.
On the other hand, there’s also incredible excitement. Just having a break from my daily routine and life, I really feel that I need it right now.

I’m also very much looking forward to meeting new people, countries, and cultures, expanding my own horizons, and stepping a bit out of my comfort zone. The upcoming time will be exciting and very thrilling; I can’t wait to see what comes next!
