Our target for today was the city of Ha Giang, which is known as the starting point for the most beautiful road in Vietnam: the Ha Giang Loop. Before we set off, we took care of our motorcycles by tightening the chain and clutch. We started our journey along a winding road through a valley and along a river. The plan was to cross the river on a bridge and ride up a 2200m high mountain. The only problem was that the bridge had no road and we didn't want to hang on the ropes. So we continued along the valley until we reached the main highway to Ha Giang.
After reaching our hostel in Ha Giang, we took Markus' motorcycle to a mechanic because he was having electronic problems again. For less than 2€, we had some contacts and cables replaced, which were responsible for the problem. When it was already dark, we went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. After we finished eating, a few children asked us if we wanted to play UNO with them. Jan and I sat down with them for a round and learned the numbers zero to nine in Vietnamese. It was nice to see how happy all the children were playing together.
