On the German side of the Rhine

Those who travel to Freiburg are often going there to shop. And surely, it is a great place to do that. We want to explore the city and make a couple of small purchases. And, above all, stock up on reading material. The market at Münsterplatz is bustling with activity, vendors from the surrounding area offer fruits and vegetables - and wonderful wines from the region. Of course, we must taste some! At half past eleven, there is a half-hour organ concert at the Münster, as there is every Saturday. It's fantastic: The Freiburg Münster has four (!) organs, all of which can be played from a single organ bench in the choir. The sound is amazing.
Enough of the hustle and bustle: In the afternoon, we make our way to the Freiburg Schlossberg. Halfway there, we stop at a wonderful, packed beer garden under old chestnut trees, where kids and adults (the adults, of course...) enjoy the company and the mild summer weather. Strengthened, we continue to the Schlossberg observation tower. The view from up there over the city and the countryside is magnificent.
Conclusion: Freiburg is always worth a visit!
