Arrived in the city of Gutenberg

Traffic-free and with varied weather, we have arrived today in Mainz-Kostheim (which actually belongs to Wiesbaden) and taken up residence at Camping Maaraue – spectacularly beautiful location directly on the Rhine with a view of the opposite Mainz old town. After checking in and briefly setting up the necessary infrastructure, we set off on foot along the Franziska-Retzinger promenade by the riverbank and over the Theodor-Heuss Bridge for a first glance towards the city center. We will save the actual city tour for tomorrow.
