Hortezuela is a locality (village) belonging to the municipality of Berlanga de Duero, in the southwest of the province of Soria, in Castilla y León (Spain, Europe). It is part of the comarca of Tierra de Berlanga (also called the Comarca de Berlanga). It belongs to the judicial district of Almazán, the judicial party no. 1 of the province of Soria.

The locality of Hortezuela, with few houses and only two streets, is centered around two roads (the only two streets): the autonomous road CL-116 (from the border with Aragon (in Monteagudo de las Vicarías) to El Burgo de Osma via Almazán) and the provincial road SO-152 (from CL-116 (in Hortezuela) to the border with Castilla-La Mancha (in Barcones)).

According to data from the INE in 2023, it has a population of 18 inhabitants. Hortezuela is located 4 kilometers from Berlanga de Duero, the municipal capital (approximately 4 minutes).

The beautiful parish church of Hortezuela is dedicated to San Juan Bautista; it features Romanesque Sorian and Gothic styles.
