Lloret de Mar is considered by many as the tourist capital of the Catalan coast and especially of the Costa Brava for being a destination not only for beaches but also for being a tourist destination in the style of Miami or Benidorm, albeit without the towering skyscrapers; many people see Lloret de Mar as a 'lawless city' where practically one can do whatever they want; in other words, it is a city that never sleeps, as every day and especially every night there is a lot of atmosphere and a lot of commotion from people and tourists from almost all countries.
It has a population (according to INE data from 2023) of 41,559 inhabitants and an area of 48.7 km².
