The Hermitage of the Virgin of Ermitana (in Valencian Ermitori de la Mare de Déu de l'Ermitana) is a beautiful hermitage located in the lovely coastal town of Peñíscola, in the north of the province of Castelló/Castellón, in the Comunitat Valenciana (Spain, Europe). It is dedicated to the patron saint of Peñíscola, the Virgin of Ermitana (la Mare de Déu de l'Ermitana). It was constructed between the years 1708 and 1714 in baroque style. The Hermitage of the Virgin of Ermitana belongs to the Diocese of Tortosa (interestingly Tortosa is located in the neighboring Catalan province of Tarragona) and to the Archpriesthood of Baix Maestrat (Lower Maestrat).
