Stage towards home – Stopover at Lake Geneva

Today we set off toward home – but the vacation is not over yet! We will spend the next 3–4 days in Switzerland, depending on how the weather develops.

Before we left, we fulfilled a small promise: We took photos of the pelicans that have fascinated us in the last few days. A beautiful farewell moment before we moved on.

Our stop today: the small town of Versoix, idyllically situated right by Lake Geneva, only about 10 km from Geneva. There we will enjoy the night with a view of the water.

With a wonderful 28 degrees, we took a walk through the marina and along the lake, where many people jumped into the cool water. A true summer day – sun, lake, and a sheer vacation mood.

However, the internet situation is less relaxed: 15.36 Euros per MB – this is simply madness! Even simple tasks like writing messages, checking the weather, or planning the route become an expensive adventure.

That’s why we got a prepaid SIM card. Let's see if it works reliably tomorrow. Communication is also a bit of a challenge: hardly anyone speaks German or English here; it's almost entirely in French. But with a bit of patience and improvisation, one can manage.

Now we’ll let the warm evening gently fade away by the lake – and we are curious where tomorrow will take us.
