Today our journey took us to the sunny eastern coast of Spain – to Benidorm, the vibrant city on the Costa Blanca, just a few kilometers from Alicante. Even on the drive there, the unique features of this place began to reveal themselves: palm trees, promenades, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, and finally – as if from nowhere – a skyline of high-rise buildings that almost surrealistically rises from the Spanish coastline. No wonder Benidorm is called the “New York of the Mediterranean”!
23 degrees, sunshine, and sea air – perfect weather for a long walk. We covered a total of 19.55 kilometers today! Our route took us along the palm-lined waterfront promenade, past countless bars and cafés inviting us to stop. The view of the crystal-clear water and the golden sandy beaches was simply dreamy. Particularly impressive: the old town with its narrow alleys, small shops, and the magnificent view over the Mediterranean – a true postcard scene.
We spend the evening in complete relaxation at our spot in El Torres, with the sound of the sea in the background and memories of a wonderfully successful day.
Benidorm – surprisingly different, modern, and yet charmingly Spanish.
