Trinidad (Chuchini Reserve)

As our penultimate stop, we wanted to take in some nature again and visited the remote Amazon region near the city of Trinidad. There was a reserve where you could sleep and from which you could take tours along the river. It was truly beautiful and very natural! The operators had rescued and rehabilitated animals from captivity, so there were several macaws and a monkey roaming the grounds. We also saw caimans, 'pink' river dolphins, a small snake, piranhas, a howler monkey, and many birds. Aminu even swam in the river, just a few meters away from a dolphin!
