17.12.25-20.12.25: Kuala Lumpur

We landed in Kuala Lumpur on the morning of December 17. It’s humid once again, and you feel like you can drink the air. We took a bus to our accommodation and then explored the city. And: Kuala Lumpur is amazing!

  1. There is delicious food and an exciting food culture! We first went to a restaurant that had a lunch buffet. This means you get a scoop of rice and can choose additional ingredients. Our highlight here was the fried cabbage 😍 In addition, there are many night markets where small stalls offer large and small meals from all over Asia. From fried tofu to fried skewers and papaya salad to stuffed dumplings - you find yourself in a culinary paradise!
  2. Kuala Lumpur is incredibly green! There are fewer lawns and trees, but everywhere you see large and small potted plants - all the things you would put in your room in Europe. Monsteras, elephant ears, and exotic hanging plants. It creates a really beautiful, green cityscape!
  3. Kuala Lumpur is very diverse. The people dress very differently and speak various languages, ancient Buddhist temples and mosques stand against a backdrop of skyscrapers, and there are restaurants from all corners of the world.
  4. The skyscrapers - Kuala Lumpur is home to the second tallest building in the world. In these high-rises, there are also, for example, malls that are connected by underground walkways. Once, we got a bit lost…
