Antelope Canyons & Monument Valley

Page may not be the most wonderful place, but it is home to the Antelope Canyon (a so-called slot canyon, where beautiful color compositions emerge depending on the light conditions), which is definitely worth a visit. If anyone ever finds themselves here - the Lower Antelope Canyon is definitely more worthwhile than the Upper ... There are also other canyons and a beautiful loop of the Colorado River (which 'later' flows through the Grand Canyon). Currently, there is a major forest fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the smoke clouds particularly obscure Page in the afternoons ...

Two hours by car away lies Monument Valley, which we only passed by in 2012. This time we will take our time and visit it as part of a self-drive tour.

On the way to the Grand Canyon, we stumble across a special sign: Dinosaur Tracks - Turn Right. Well, we turn right and actually see some dino tracks - unprotected, with no entry fee, just like that ... not bad. According to a 3-minute internet search, they are indeed real ...
