Zion National Park

The Zion NP encompasses an area of canyons and steep mountain walls, creating a rather colorful picture. The female M has confidently selected the only two hikes rated as 'strenuous' from the standard catalog for our two full days here.

On the one hand, we climbed the viewpoint 'Angels Landing' - just under 10km with an ascent of 450 meters, where you need an extra permit for the last section to prevent overcrowding. Standing there makes it immediately clear why, as it is already crowded, and the last half mile (0.8km) is a wild climbing path along steel cables, going several hundred meters straight down on the right or left (sometimes also 'and') and still steep uphill...

Day 2 was a bit flatter, here we walked through a gorge ('The Narrows'), where the 'hiking trail' mainly runs in the river. It is only about 13-14km, but it is quite exhausting.

A few smaller tours and viewpoints were also incorporated to fill the daily programs.
