Isle of Skye II

Our second day on the Isle of Skye was more relaxed than the first day. This was due to two reasons: 1. our energy was slowly fading 2. bad weather (the main reason).

We started with a disappointing breakfast at our hotel. The water smelled of chlorine and the coffee was sour. The food was okay, but the service was not optimal. This hotel definitely has charm and a great view, but it's not really what we want for more than one night.

Therefore, we quickly set off. However, we could not do the planned hike due to the weather, as rain was advised against. Thus, we ended up at a beach where there were supposed to be dinosaur footprints. Let's just say, with a lot of imagination, you could recognize them as such. We met a nice German lady with a dog and a relaxed, sleeping seal.

After that, we headed to the Shire to see the Hobbits 🤭 no, to Fairy Glen. A landscape shaped by landslides and rockfalls. Beautiful and easy to walk even in the rain.

On the way back to Loch Ness, we passed the Isle of Skye Candle Factory. There, candles and more were shopped, and we had lunch.

We finally arrived at the house around 5 PM.

Today, we simply did nothing, and the Scottish weather with rain and storms fits very well with the relaxed day. A little recharge of energy to handle the upcoming final days.

How did we like the trip to the Isle of Skye?

Sara: I found the Isle of Skye very impressive and emotionally touching, as well as historically significant.

Patrick: I thought the Isle of Skye was simply wonderful because the impressive landscape with its rugged mountains, green valleys, and beautiful coasts is something very special... I was particularly fascinated by the nature, which looks almost mystical in many places... For me, the Isle of Skye was definitely the highlight of our Scotland trip 😍

Sabrina: The Isle of Skye was even a bit rougher in landscape than the mainland, but also very, very impressive. The high mountains and rock formations, the expanses, and the steep coast. In between, there are always green valleys. Beautiful! The stories and myths of this country are much more tangible there.

Philipp: School is crap!

(he hasn't done the homework I assigned to him for this blog!)
