Amed - ohh you beautiful piece of earth

So, finally I went to Amed... A small region in the northeast of Bali. Mainly known for divers and the highest mountain/volcano Mount Agung, which is still active and erupted again last year. At least I arrived here on Monday afternoon. Tatjana, whom I already knew from Ubud, was also here, so we arranged to explore two temples with a driver in the afternoon. One of them was the Lempuyang Temple. Unfortunately, we couldn't see it completely because we would have had a 4-hour hike and we didn't have that much time. Instead, we went to the 'Gate to Heaven'. That's the fore-temple and there were masses of tourists there to take a photo. We didn't feel like queuing, so instead we took a few photos.

Afterwards, we went to the Tirta Gangga Water Palace. Again, there was a crowd, but that is ordinary nowadays. In the evening, we went to THE sunset point. The sun set against the backdrop of the volcano.

On Tuesday, I had booked a snorkeling tour at the hotel. At least, that's how it was agreed. In the morning, suddenly nobody knew anything again 😂 Well, we quickly made a new plan and I took a scooter and did the snorkeling tour myself 🤙.

There was an old Japanese shipwreck to see and there was a huge coral reef on a beach. In the afternoon, I also tried stand-up paddleboarding and immediately fell in love with it. It's really fun and especially there was a breathtaking sunset 😉.

Tomorrow we'll continue to the next destination... The Gili Islands....
