Today we will ride to the Santa Monica Pier, which offers a diverse mix of entertainment and coastal vibes. The historic pier with its big wheel, small snack stands, and street performers is a great starting point for a bike tour. From there, a well-paved bike path runs directly along the ocean to Venice Beach. The route is flat and family-friendly, with plenty of viewpoints overlooking the Pacific. Upon arriving at Venice Beach, a short detour to the famous Muscle Beach is worthwhile, where we can try out some of the public workout equipment ourselves. The adjacent boardwalk showcases the vibrant and creative street life of the area, with graffiti, skaters, and artists. On the way back, we will take a break at the beach, where we will go into the water together. The scenery is reminiscent of the 90s TV series “Baywatch” - it was filmed here. While the city enjoys clear blue skies, there's a gray cloud cover over the beach, but the sun is still strong and not to be underestimated. The day offers a successful combination of exercise, relaxation, and insights into the typical beach life of Los Angeles. Afterwards, we head back to our hotel near the Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars have been awarded since 2002.
