The Universal Studios Hollywood offers deep insights into film sets and special effects with its Theme Park and the famous Studio Tour. The 45-minute tram tour takes us over the backlot, showcasing iconic scenes such as 'Earthquake', 'King Kong', and 'Jaws'.
Among the rides and attractions we enjoyed the most besides the Studio Tour are: Jurassic World, a water ride featuring realistic dinosaur animatronics and a steep final drop, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an impressive recreation of Harry Potter's world, with the simulator “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” where you fly through Hogwarts and the indoor coaster Revenge of the ‘Mummy – The Ride’, a dark ride coaster with intense acceleration, forward and backward motions, animations, and stroboscopic light effects.
The rides are not for the faint of heart, setting benchmarks in terms of technology and thrill. The combination of film sets and themed worlds makes Universal Studios particularly appealing. Express passes are required during peak season; otherwise, one should expect wait times of 60-120 minutes per ride, which can be reduced to a maximum of 5 minutes with Express. Without express tickets, visiting the park would be a frustrating experience we would choose to avoid. Overall, Universal Studios Hollywood offers a successful combination of Hollywood authenticity, captivating technology, and action.
