The rain was on our heels as we crossed mountains and valleys to reach the small town of Castione della Presolana, including a typical Albergo like the many you find in the most remote corners of Italy.
Next morning: bright sunshine. It's tempting to continue on our journey. Along the beautiful Lake Iseo, through the Po Valley with a stop in the violin-making city of Cremona. From there, we head along the Po until we pass the flat area of the Po and get on the highway heading towards the Adriatic. We want to see the sea.
Arrival in Cesenatico above Rimini in the evening. The hometown of Marco Pantani - il Pirato. The classic Teutonic barbecue. Plenty of beds, plenty of sun loungers. It's also an experience.
