Klit plantation - sounds more like Holland

The rugged North Sea side features wide beaches and high dunes.</p><p>Such things do not exist on the Baltic Sea side. Here, the beaches are smaller and rockier. In return, there are more small harbors where sailors dock.</p><p>So what does one do for 3 days in no man's land? Well, taking long showers, using the fitness room, going to the sauna, cycling, and quickly going to the camping restaurant for dinner on Sunday. Because on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, it is closed. Just like many restaurants that only open for the weekend in the offseason. One then notices how gastronomic offerings take a fixed place in our vacation life.</p><p>We also noticed this during a bike trip to the Baltic Sea side to Marina Aalbaek. We had to bury our wish for a small café with a little something to eat – nothing to be found on a Tuesday.</p><p>Then back to cycling and going to the sauna. There we met a native of Dresden who had lived in Switzerland for 20 years. Now, he lives in a motorhome and sold everything at home. He and his wife have been on the road for 2 years now, staying in Skiveren until the end of September, before heading to Sicily for the winter.</p><p>We followed the very interesting stories about experiences in the northern countries with great interest.</p><p>However – complete abandonment of home is out of the question.</p><p>Tomorrow we should continue and we sit pondering over the weather map and the road map. Northern Jutland has the lowest population density in Denmark. It is an agriculturally influenced region that is crisscrossed by a lot of water. Large fjords and lakes that stretch from west of Aalborg to the North Sea want to be explored. But where does one start and where does one stop?</p><p>The first attraction (see above) is the large moving dune Rubjerg Knude, one of the largest in Europe.</p><p>The wind is howling today with hurricane-like intensity from the west, blowing the sand of the dune into the face of the brave

This larger town is located on the water of the fjord of the same name (Thisted Bredning) and has both a parking area by the marina and a nearby city center.</p><p>The parking area is quickly found and the way to the pedestrian zone is not far.</p><p>But - see above - at 5 PM all the shops are closed and we can once again only look at shop windows.</p><p>We still need to learn this, here the clocks tick differently.</p><p>As a highlight, it should be mentioned that right in front of our noses, the

Youth World Cup in windsurfing for under-21s took place.</p><p>I froze just looking at it, but the boys and girls bravely got back up and went off again.</p><p>The onward journey should lead to the south side of the Limfjord, as we wanted to learn a bit about the area. But that happens even while driving through the landscape. Sometimes water on the right, sometimes water on the left, sometimes a bridge over a narrow point, and bam, we are already across.</p><p>We had chosen Lemvig - but the parking area was a disaster and the nearby camping site already emptied. We are not staying here.</p><p>Next place: Ringkøbing - at the same-named fjord.</p><p>And indeed, we reach the parking site at the sailing harbor by 2 PM and finally have time to stroll through the open pedestrian zone and shops.</p><p>And in the evening, even eat pizza at a well-filled Italian restaurant. The sky opened all floodgates and rain pelted down on the roof like constant fire.</p><p>Man, more rain can't possibly fall.</p><p>As a reward, we are now choosing a 5-star campsite with all amenities – Henne Strand is the choice.</p><p>There, we will check in tomorrow.</p>

We checked in for 3 days at Camping Skiveren. Most others stay longer, at least 1 week, and are usually regulars.

Speaking of which - my parents were regulars as well, and those who can call themselves that receive a brass plaque at the table for their 25th visit.

25 years ...

Besides that, there is also the family tree for the 35-year visitors.

I don’t know - I think we don't want to reach that.

Nevertheless, the place offers some amenities and is well organized. However, one searches in vain for a location called

Hallo ihr Zwei! Hennestrand kenn' ich, dass werdet ihr gut stoppen gehen können, das Schuhgeschäft hat's mir besonders angetan ... Wir waren viele Jahre in Vejersstrand, weil man dort mit dem Auto ans Wasser fahren kann! Blåvand ist auch recht nett, auch da kann man gut einkaufen - damit ihr auch mal ein paar Andenken mitbringen könnt!!! Schade ist's mit dem Wetter, so schlecht war es eigentlich bei uns nie!?! Übrigens, es ist jetzt Pilzzeit und in der Nähe von Vejersstrand sind wir immer mit Maronen fündig geworden. Viel Erfolg auf eurer Nordtour wünscht euch Heidi🍄🍀🐖❗️
