Originally, we didn't have the desert on our itinerary, but we rearranged the travel route and because everyone was talking about the dune, we didn't want to miss it either. It was worth it: the drive through the sand for the last kilometers was a real experience, we were the only visitors around (probably due to Corona), and especially at sunset the colors were really great. The desert was more colorful than expected, there were surprisingly many green trees and animals.
The climb to the dune had to be quick to be back at the campsite by sunset, so it was accordingly exhausting...
