The journey begins

1. Day

On December 26, 2025, our journey to the Caribbean finally starts. Babsi and I are heading to the airport in Venice at midnight. Our first flight departs in freezing temperatures at 6:10 AM, and we arrive in Paris around 8 AM. We then continue at 11 AM to French Guiana. After a 9-hour flight, we arrive safely at Cayenne Airport in very warm temperatures. A few rounds of Punto and a Heineken are already in order. At 7:50 PM, we fly on to Fort de France and land well two hours later. We take a taxi to the Karibea hotel. After this long journey, we fall very tired into bed. Tomorrow we will pick up the rental car and embark on our first exploratory trip.
