Blue Wonder of Jamaica in Ocho Rios 🩵
Our accommodation in Ocho Rios was yet another absolute stroke of luck! Just a few minutes' walk from the center, located on a small hill with a view of the sea 🌊 and a pool...

When we arrived in San José, we just wanted to grab something delicious to eat around the corner and then we fell into bed exhausted. 🥱
The next morning, we set off relatively early towards the bus station so we wouldn't miss the bus to La Fortuna. 🚌 The bus ride was actually quite pleasant, but the route was super winding. 🥴 We spent the afternoon getting a sense of La Fortuna - it is truly a beautiful place! ☺️
We booked a tour to the waterfall for the next day, which unfortunately literally fell through. 😂 Actually, the water there should be turquoise blue. 🩵 However, we had to settle for a muddy mess because it rained heavily the entire time. 😄 Such a shame. 🌧️ But it was still a cool trip because we immediately connected with the other hostel guests 🥰 and went to a disco together in the evening. 💃🏼
On Sunday, we headed to the Arenal Volcano National Park. 🌋 Thankfully, we had better luck with the weather this time! 🙏🏼 This allowed us to enjoy the beautiful hike to the viewpoint even more. 🌿 Unfortunately, there were still a few clouds, so the volcano wasn't completely visible. ☁️ On the way down, we made a short stop at the lake. 💦 In the evening, we visited the hot springs. These are natural hot springs that are heated underground due to volcanic activity - basically thermal baths in paradise! 🤩
Yesterday, we strolled to "El Salto", a beautiful natural location for swimming and a ropeswing to jump in. 😍 That was really fun again! And in the afternoon, we treated ourselves to two Frappuccinos to wrap up our day. 🤤
Today, we took the shuttle to Santa Teresa. Finally back to the beach. 🤩 We are excited to spend the next 3 days here! 😍
