Once in a lifetime in the Amazon 🇧🇷

After receiving an email 6 hours before departure that our original flight was canceled and we would have to stay 2 days in Bogota (Colombia), we immediately made our way to the airport. There, we spent almost an hour and a half discussing with an Avianca representative about our options to reach Manaus as planned 😮‍💨 our persistence paid off because we were eventually rebooked on another airline after refusing the other two suggestions from them 🙈

So we flew directly and with legroom from Panama City to Manaus 🇧🇷

We spent the first day very relaxed. We went shopping, had brunch, and in the afternoon watched the Bayern game, sneaking in a few naps because we were both a bit under the weather 🤧 (probably from the air conditioning, yay 🥶) and super tired since we landed at 02:30 am 🥱

Our first day in the Amazon began with a jungle hike, where we passed various waterfalls, caves, and other nature spots 🤗🌿

After lunch, we headed to Presidente Figueredo, where we had the opportunity to swim.

In the evening, we were exhausted after over 12 hours of travel 😄😴 and just ate and then collapsed into bed.

The next day started early again, as there was also a lot planned for today.

First, we did a slightly different jungle hike than the day before, during which we saw monkeys 🐒 spiders 🕷️ and other small animals.

At noon, we ate together on a floating boat on the Rio Negro 🤗 and then set out to see the pink dolphins. We had the chance to swim with them, but I was horrified by them 😂 and Magge didn't find the experience so great either. The pink dolphins are also known as botos - which, in my opinion, makes it even creepier 😄 but well, some people liked it, and that's how it should be 😊

The highlight came when we were back on the boat to fish for piranhas 🤩 it was really fun and surprisingly calming 🎣 and we both quickly caught one 🐟

After sunset, we looked for caimans 🐊 and then headed back home.

On the last day, we spent more time in the city. We visited the theater and had coffee ☕️ did a bit of shopping and watched football again 😄

The excursions in the Amazon were really cool, but now we are also looking forward to a few days at the beach and in the sun 🔆🔥 and of course to carnival, because our final stop is: Rio de Janeiro 💃🏼
