Heraklion Hop On Hop off

After our second visit to Heraklion, we wanted to explore the city on our own this time. Around 9:30 AM, the free shuttle from the ship took us to the port exit. The shuttle is mandatory here since the port area cannot be left on foot.

Right at the port terminal, we bought our tickets for the local Hop-On-Hop-Off bus. For adults, the day pass cost 20 euros, but unfortunately, there was no discount for people with disabilities or seniors. Two routes are offered: the red city line and the blue beach line.

At 9:50 AM, we started with the red city line. The buses here operate pleasantly regularly – about every 20 minutes. This way, we could comfortably take a round through Heraklion and experience the city from a different perspective. Around 11:10 AM, we were back at the harbor.
