My Ship 4 'Sunny Sides of the Adriatic'

On July 21, 2026, we will reach our first stop on this cruise. Bari, the capital of the southern Italian region of Apulia. Our itinerary includes the market hall, the famous pasta ladies, and the old town Bari Vecchia.

We set off shortly before 09:00 AM. From the port, we pass by the Castello Normanno-Svevo, which today serves as a museum and event venue, and make our way through the old town to the market hall. Google Maps is very helpful in this regard. The market hall is quite manageable. Many shops are completely closed, but you can find everything that goes on the table or into the pot daily.

Now we head back towards the castle to the famous Strada Arco Bassa. Here, local women prepare fresh pasta outdoors and sell it. From here, you can simply stroll through the narrow alleys. You should keep an eye on the courtyards and house facades.

You reach the Cathedral of Bari with its characteristic light stone facade. Here, you can pause before beginning your return journey through the alleys. A few souvenirs are to be bought. The Chiesa di San Marco dei Veneziani and the Basilica of San Nicola are also not to be missed.

You can spend a relaxing day in Bari. You can visit museums and churches, or simply enjoy the city.
