USA West Coast Roadtrip - Day 4

We were able to park our rental car overnight in the hotel parking lot (for 25 dollars), so we can head to Snoqualmie Falls right in the morning. Before that, we'll find a bagel bakery for breakfast. The drive to the waterfall only takes 45 minutes; we park in the free parking lot located right next to the paid one. First, we view the 82-meter-high waterfall from above. It was named after the Snoqualmie Indian tribe. Then we take a short hiking trail down and can also catch a view of the waterfall from a frog's perspective. By the way, it is used for energy generation. Next, we make the obligatory stop at the visitor center, where I pick up a magnet. Then we head back to Seattle because Andreas wants to attend his first concert of Hatsune Miku on her North America tour 2026 in the evening. We return our beloved Jeep at Alamo, hoping that we can get another great upgrade for the drive to L.A. the next day. Since we still have some time, we get tickets for a guided underground tour of Seattle. The tour is in English and the participants are very international: one couple is from Israel, one from Poland, one from the UK (Scotland and Wales), and one from the USA. Seattle was founded only in the 19th century, and the area had a sandy, muddy underground, apart from today's Pioneer Square. That’s where the first settlers could settle. In the 1880s, the settlement burned down completely, and Seattle was rebuilt, this time elevated, by removing the surrounding hills and filling in the port area. This resulted in numerous underground passages today that are interconnected and were part of our underground tour. Later, we grab a bite to eat at the Seattle waterfront and swing for about half an hour on adult swings overlooking Puget Sound. Around 3:00 PM, I remind Andreas that he probably can't take his backpack to the concert since I've noticed several Hatsune Miku fans wandering around the harbor with transparent bags. We then set out to find a transparent bag to buy. After checking several stores, we find one, and Andreas can head to the concert arena, the WAMU Theater, without worries. Later, he tells me that concert-goers without a transparent bag were turned away. I take another stroll through Seattle Downtown and pass by Pike Market again. By the way, the first Starbucks store from 1971 is located there – although it's probably not the original building. In addition to Starbucks, Seattle is also the birthplace of UPS and Boeing. I actually wanted to do some laundry, but there’s no laundromat near the hotel. Therefore, I take care of the accommodation with a washing machine for the next two days as we leave Seattle tomorrow. I go to bed around 10:00 PM and don’t even notice when Andreas arrives.
